28 May 2025 – ICPerMed is pleased to welcome the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) as a new member.

Established in 1986, COSTECH is the principal advisory body to the Government of Tanzania on matters related to science, technology, and innovation (STI), with the responsibility of coordinating and promoting research and technology development activities in Tanzania. COSTECH serves under the ministry of Education, Science and Technology by coordinating, promoting and facilitating research and technology development activities in the country.

COSTECH’s interest in connecting with ICPerMed reflects a commitment to advancing science-based, patient-centered healthcare in Tanzania through global collaboration, innovation, and strategic capacity building. COSTECH is the first organisation from Tanzania to join ICPerMed. This is a step further towards ICPerMed’s internationalisation, which is an important aim of ICPerMed, in order to align research and funding activities on an international level.
